Getting married in Egypt - British Citizens
Unfortunately due to recent changes we are now unable to organise the legal side of your wedding, however we are happy to give you as much information as possible to help you do this.
You will need:
Birth Certificates of Bride and Groom
Passports of Bride and Groom
Copy of witness passports (Both of which have to be men)
Statutory Declaration or Certificate of No Impediment (Affidavit) obtained in the UK
Decree Absolute (If divorced)
Death Certificate of Spouse (If applicable)
Adoption Certificate (If applicable)
Deed Poll Proof of Name Change (If applicable)
Evidence of Parental Consent (if under 18)

Accommodation and Flights
Further info: Certificate of No Impediment legalised by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, legal proof of any name change, certified translations of all required documents above. You can't remarry within 3 months of a previous divorce, if pregnant, or within 4 months & 10 days of being widowed.
Residency requirement: none, but you need to be present for at least 6 or 7 days to arrange the paperwork.
Step by Step Guide:
1. Day 1 - Go to British Embassy in Cairo, make appointment for following day
2. Day 2 - Go to British Embassy, collect a Statutory Declaration to show you are free to marry
3. Day 2 -Go to Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Authentication Offices to get paperwork stamped
4. Day 2 - Go to the Egyptian Ministry of Justice Annex (Office of Marriage of Foreigners) to finalize paperwork and sign wedding contract
5. Day 3&4 - Enjoy Cairo
6. Day 5 - Pick up marriage certificate have it translated to English with no mistakes
7. Day 6/7 - Submit Marriage Certificate to the British Embassy to legalize the Wedding in the UK.
Please note 2 male witnesses are required. Witnesses can be provided at an additional cost.
